Designed for those who have little or no experience in watercolor, this course will focus on getting comfortable with watercolor  techniques while enjoying the process of painting. A brief history along with basics of materials, tools, techniques, learning different washes, color mixing, building tones, and brushwork will be covered.

Lessons consist of step-by-step demonstrations that students will then follow and practice. The first two weeks will mostly be practicing learned techniques in a series of simple drills Over the following weeks, students will explore more complex subjects of still life and landscape.

Arches #300lb., Cold Press Watercolor Sheets - 2 (more will be needed but start with 2 sheets)
  • Cut one of the sheets into 5  1/2" x 7  1/2" pieces
  • (Sheets are originally 22"x30", then cut into 16 equal pieces, each measuring 5  1/2" x 7  1/2")
